Weekend Shooting Investigated as Homicide

Dallas Police on Tuesday said a deadly shooting over the weekend is being investigated as a homicide.

Police responded on Sunday to a call in the 900 block of Cleardale Drive, located in Dallas City Councilmember Tennell Atkins’ District 8.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the scene to assist and provide medical services.

Police identified the victim as 62-year-old Robert Dunmeyer.

He died from his injuries, according to police.

Officers have not released information on if they have a suspect(s).

Detectives are investigating and looking over evidence.

As of May 1, there have been 95 murders in the city of Dallas, according to the Dallas Police Department Crime Brief.

Due to the ransomware attack on citywide services, there are no publicly available statistics beyond May 1.
