Man Cut on Wynnewood Drive:

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an incident where a man was cut, according to police.

On Friday night, June 2, at about 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a call near the 700 block of Wynnewood Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a male victim suffering from a wound.

After further investigation, police said the male victim and a male suspect were involved in a fight that escalated when the suspect cut the victim.

The suspect then fled the scene, according to police.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains in stable condition.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect or the victim.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Man Shot on Lancaster Road:

The Dallas Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured early Sunday morning.

On June 4, police were called about a shooting that occurred at the 3600 block of Lancaster Road at about 12:50 a.m.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

As officers conducted a preliminary investigation, they determined two men were involved in an altercation with each other.

The male suspect and male victim were involved in an argument that escalated when the suspect shot the victim, police said.

The suspect then fled the location.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.

News of the violent crimes comes amid some uncertainty with the Dallas Police Department. Due to the alleged ransomware attack, publicly available crime data has not been released since May 1.

Additionally, the number of police officers in Dallas is near historic lows. The Dallas Police Department currently has about 3,100 officers, but Dallas Police Association President Mike Mata told the Dallas Observer back in January as of now that the City is “400–500 officers short.”
