Two teenagers and a maintenance man were involved in a shootout at the Cambridge Court Apartments in West Fort Worth on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when two teenagers and a maintenance man engaged in a gunfight across the apartment complex, shooting from two spots near Calmont Avenue and Cherry Lane. The maintenance man was shot at and returned fire during the exchange of gunshots, but no injuries were reported, per NBC DFW.
Police arrived after receiving the domestic disturbance call around 1 p.m. The situation escalated quickly, with SWAT, tactical medical, and several other specialized and support units arriving at the scene, per The Dallas Morning News.
Although it is still unclear how the maintenance man became involved in the dispute, the situation escalated when one of the teenagers barricaded himself inside an apartment with his girlfriend, per KRLD News Radio. The SWAT team attempted to establish communication with the third person, but after several hours, they determined that the apartment was empty and cleared the area.
The police have not yet disclosed the identities of the two juveniles arrested in connection with the shooting, and it remains unclear what charges they will face. There has been no additional information other than them being juveniles released about the suspects or the circumstances that led to the domestic dispute.
