Students at a Garland ISD school were suspended after threatening to harm and kill other students online.
According to Garland Police, a group of Naaman Forest High School students has been suspended indefinitely and prohibited from being on Garland ISD property. Police said they had determined there was no immediate threat to the campus.
In a statement on Friday, Garland Police said that threats of violence would not be tolerated.
Police further assured the students and staff of Garland ISD that measures would be taken to ensure their safety. One such measure will be to increase patrols at all campuses for the remainder of the academic year.
The identity or number of the students involved is not known, nor is whether the students face any charges. It is also not clear when the threats were made.
The FBI, Garland Police Department, and North Texas Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating the threat case.
