The Irving Mall was evacuated Sunday evening after police said an altercation between two people turned violent, according to the Irving Police Department’s Twitter account.

The incident happened near an entrance to the mall around 4 p.m. and involved two people who knew each other.

The suspect and victim crossed paths at the entrance of the mall as one was leaving, and the other was entering the mall, police said. An altercation erupted between the two and took a violent turn, with one of the individuals shooting at the other, police said.

No one was injured in the shooting, and there were no other victims, according to police.

Police found shell casings at the scene inside the food court, as well as shattered glass near the entrance of the mall. The entire mall was evacuated as a precaution.

Detectives have said that they have reached out to the victim, but police said the victim is being uncooperative.

No arrest has been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
