A Fort Worth police officer was arrested on Monday, November 28, by Saginaw Police and placed on restrictive duty in relation to accusations of a domestic violence incident, according to a news release.

Saginaw police were called to the 1100 block of Parkhill Drive in response to the incident. When officers arrived on the scene, they spotted the suspect’s wife standing outside. The alleged victim said that she had been assaulted by her husband, according to police.

The officers conducted interviews with both Maly and his wife, then took him into custody. Sometime around 3:40 a.m., Maly was arrested on suspicion of assault-bodily injury to a family member, according to the release.

Maly was off duty when the alleged incident occurred, and no further details about what led to his arrest in Saginaw have been released.

Since learning of their officer’s arrest, the Fort Worth Police Department has begun an administrative investigation and placed him on restricted duty. This temporarily strips him of police authority pending the outcome of both criminal and administrative investigations.

“The Fort Worth Police Department holds its officers to a high standard on and off duty, and does not tolerate criminal misconduct or unethical behavior; therefore, a thorough investigation to collect and review the facts and the circumstances of these allegations will be conducted,” the department said in a statement.

Maly has been with the Fort Worth Police Department for one year and was assigned to the Patrol Bureau at the time of his arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
