Providence Police released new surveillance footage Monday as they continue to investigate Saturday’s shooting at Brown University that left two students dead and nine others injured, asking the public to help identify a person of interest seen near campus before the attack.
In a series of posts shared on X, the department urged anyone who recognizes the individual shown in the footage to contact authorities.
“We are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in Saturday’s incident at Brown University,” Providence Police said. “Please share these video clips and direct all tips to 401-272-3121 or fbi.gov/brownuniversityshooting.”

According to police, the footage was captured approximately two hours before the shooting and shows an individual walking near the campus area.
Authorities described the person of interest as a male with a stocky build, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing dark clothing and a mask.

Police emphasized that the individual shown in the footage has not been identified and is considered a person of interest, not a suspect.
Investigators have asked the public to carefully review the videos and images and report any information that could help identify the individual.

As The Dallas Express previously reported, two Brown University students were killed and nine others were injured during the Saturday afternoon attack.
A Wisconsin man detained earlier in the investigation was later released after police determined he was not connected to the shooting.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and that they are continuing to pursue additional leads in coordination with federal partners.
