The Fort Worth Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly punched a Family Dollar Store employee.

Fort Worth police said two individuals — a white female and a black male — entered the store in the 4900 block of Mansfield Highway at about 9:20 p.m. on August 7. Once inside, the duo allegedly picked up some items from the shelves and hid them in a bag the woman was carrying.

The man later proceeded to the register to pay for an item while the woman allegedly left the store with the hidden items inside her bag. Police said a store employee followed the woman to the parking lot, but the man exited the store and allegedly punched the employee in the face.

The suspect, who police allege had stolen from the store in the past, fled the scene on foot.

Police asked anyone who recognized the suspect to call 817-392-4377.
