The Dallas Police Department is seeking help from the public to find a teen suspect alleged of two murders.

Pablo Veliz, 17, is a suspect in two murder cases from 2024 and 2023, per WFAA.

Veliz was 16 at the time of the 2023 murder. Both fatalities allegedly connected to Veliz involved shootings.

The most recent incident occurred on May 2, 2024, and involved a fight stemming from a minor car crash in Dallas, resulting in one victim dying and two others being injured.

The incident occurred at North Masters Drive and Carolina Oaks Drive. The deceased was identified to WFAA by his mother as Isaac Aguirre.

The second offense occurred on December 11, 2023, when Dallas police responded to a Mesquite area hospital where a victim was transported in a private vehicle with gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified by his mother as Aarzo Jones, died from his injuries.

“I don’t know how to even move forward without him,” Jones’ mother, Katherine Borders, told WFAA. “It’s been like just living a nightmare…over and over again every day.”

Borders told WFAA that her son did not know Veliz but did have a mutual friend who had an interaction with him where Jones was present. Borders told WFAA that her son was innocent and was killed a week before his 28th birthday.

“They need to get [Veliz] off the streets before another family has to endure the pain and suffering that we have,” she told WFAA. “I’ll never have an opportunity to have grandbabies and to witness him being a father…Being his mom is the greatest gift I could ever ask for, and I’m still his mom,” she said.

Crime Stoppers is willing to offer a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to Veliz’s arrest and indictment.

Tips can be submitted online at P3tips.com or by calling Crime Stoppers at 214-373-8477.

Anyone with information is directed to contact Detective Chris Walton at 214-671-3622 or by email at [email protected] or Detective Chelsea Whitaker at 214-557-9314 or by email at [email protected].

Although DPD has managed to curb violent crime rates this year, there were 247 murders last year — 15.4% more compared to 2022, according to the City’s crime analytics dashboard. Black and Hispanic males comprised the majority of murder victims, and this trend has continued into 2024. Of the 96 people murdered in Dallas as of June 16, 52 were black males, and 24 were Hispanic males, per City data.

DPD currently fields only 3,000 officers, while a City report previously recommended a force of 4,000 sworn-in personnel to effectively ensure public safety. The department is also forced to deal with a much smaller budget than law enforcement agencies in other high-crime municipalities, with City leaders voting in a budget of $654 million this fiscal year.
