A Grand Prairie ISD substitute teacher was reported to police for alleged inappropriate behavior last month after a video surfaced in which he appeared to be fondling himself at his desk.

The alleged incident was filmed at South Grand Prairie High School in March.

According to a statement provided to The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday, the district instantly notified the Grand Prairie Police Department after learning of the video.

“Because Grand Prairie ISD respects the privacy of students and employees,” said the district, “neither the campus nor the district has been in a position to discuss the inappropriate behavior of a substitute teacher caught on video in March.”

According to district spokeswoman Sam Buchmeyer, the occurrence has also been reported to the Texas Education Agency.

Grand Prairie Police spokesperson Mark Beseda said on April 21 that the authorities are aware of the incident but cannot release details since minors may be involved.
