A man was found suffering from a single gunshot wound while in his vehicle according to a news release from the Dallas Police Department.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found that the victim, now identified as 33-year-old Khurram Ali, had been shot, police said.

Dallas Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The shooting occurred on Thursday, January 19, at approximately 10:45 p.m. at 5900 N. Central Expressway.

The shooting took place at the expressway inside District 14, which is represented by Dallas City Councilman Paul Ridley, who announced he is running for reelection amidst a spike in robberies.

Ridley was also The Dallas Express’ Crime Boss runner-up, and he attended an all-ages drag show last weekend that had children in attendance.

The Dallas Express contacted the Dallas Police Department for additional information and comment about the shooting but had not heard back at the time of print.
