The Plano Police Department is warning the public to “stay vigilant” after numerous high-end burglaries in the area.

The burglaries took place in late June near Willow Bend and near the intersection of W. Spring Creek and Tennyson Parkways, said Plano Detective Alexandra Cole to The Dallas Express. The department worked alongside police in Frisco and Allen, as the “same crew” had been targeting their residents in June and July.

“We have not identified the individuals, and we believe that they are no longer active in the area,” Cole said. She added the suspects have been “targeting high-end, unoccupied houses looking for jewelry and luxury purses.”

The department announced earlier this week that there had been a “string of high-end residential burglaries” in the area. Officials advised residents to be vigilant for suspicious individuals, vehicles, or activity.

Residents can contact the Plano police department at its non-emergency number, 972-424-5678. They should call 911 in the event of an emergency.

“If someone does break in, call and make the report right away, as well as inform neighborhood watch groups/Nextdoor of the activity so that neighbors stay vigilant,” Cole said.

The department’s Crime Prevention Unit offers free home security assessments. Residents can contact officers to request one at 972-941-2431.

“Your awareness and involvement are key to protecting our neighborhoods,” officials wrote. “Thank you for helping us keep Plano safe and secure.”
