Dallas was recently ranked among the most dangerous in the nation for pedestrians, according to a recent study by a personal injury lawyer, The Dallas Express reported.

This weekend proved to add more validity to this unfavorable ranking, as another victim has been claimed.

Derrick Allen, 47, was struck by a vehicle and died while walking along the side of the road in southern Dallas with an unidentified man over the weekend.

On August 18, at 1:45 a.m., officers from the Dallas Police Department were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Prosperity Avenue and Stanley Smith Drive. Police reported that the men were walking west on 2800 Prosperity Avenue when Allen was hit by a car, reported WFAA.
