Over the weekend, Dallas experienced three tragic shooting incidents.
Dallas Police report that two women were shot and wounded while using a rideshare service around 5 a.m. on Saturday. The incident occurred on the Stemmons Service Road close to I-35 and Inwood Road, reported Fox 4 KDFW.
A 20-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman were admitted to a hospital, with one in critical condition and the other in stable condition.
Authorities stated that a vehicle approached the SUV they were in, fired into it, and then fled the scene.
No suspects have been apprehended.
In a separate incident, authorities are searching for a man who allegedly shot and killed a woman early Sunday morning in South Dallas.
At approximately 4 a.m., police responded to a call at the Happy Family apartment complex on South Fitzhugh Ave. They discovered a woman inside a black sports car who had sustained gunshot wounds, reported Fox 4.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Witnesses reported that two women, one in the driver’s seat and the other standing nearby, were confronted by a man. A confrontation ensued, during which the man pointed a firearm at the woman in the vehicle and shot her before fleeing the scene.
The second woman was unharmed and has since spoken with investigators.
Crime scene technicians recovered multiple shell casings near the car, and police are reviewing local surveillance footage. The motive remains unclear, and the investigation continues. The victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed.
Several hours later, around 8:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the New Generation Baptist Church on South Lancaster Road after a man was discovered with gunshot wounds, reported Fox.
He was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
According to the church’s social media, Sunday services and live streams were canceled for December 8 due to the incident.
