One of the three men arrested in connection with a triple homicide in Parker County has been exonerated, but a fourth man has now been implicated in the April 20 crime, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Charges against Dennis Craig Alexander have been dropped, and he has been released from custody.
“Initially, during the early stages of the investigation, Alexander was identified as a suspect by the other suspects; however, subsequent findings have led investigators to conclude that he was not connected to the crime, ” the press release states.
However, two other suspects, Trin Lawrence McKnight, 27, and Barrett Copeland, 19, remain in custody and have been charged with the murder of 44-year-old Tiffany Ann Williams, her husband, David Wayne Walker, 42, and 55-year-old Robbie Allen Head, who was reportedly a tenant in the family’s home.
The bodies of the three victims were found near a creek in northern Hood County just days after they were reported missing on April 21 by a family member.
Based on the condition of the Williams and Walker home, located in the 100 block of Myrtle Lane in Granbury, investigators said at that time they believed the missing persons were in danger, and asked for the public’s help to locate them, The Dallas Express reported.
Williams’ vehicle, which was found at the home, showed evidence consistent with “a bloodletting event” in the back seat and trunk area. A bloody fingerprint on the driver’s side door led investigators to McKnight as a suspect.
Now, authorities have arrested a fourth man in connection with the crime. Michael Morris, 18, has been charged with tampering with physical evidence, abuse of a corpse, and failure to report a felony. He allegedly helped McKnight and Copeland clean up the crime scene and dispose of the victims’ bodies at the creek, using the victims’ car to transport the bodies.
Copeland allegedly told investigators that he was tired of living with his grandparents and wanted to live on his own, so he went to the Williams and Walker home to take their house from them, Fox 4 KDFW reported. He said that he implicated Alexander and another person in the murder because he did not like them and wanted them to get in trouble. He said that Alexander used to live in the Williams and Walker home, so he thought that would make him a believable suspect.
