A New Year’s Day shooting in Odessa left one man dead and a woman hospitalized, leading to the arrest of the suspected gunman in Arlington hours later.
The cross-state manhunt ended when Arlington police apprehended Nathaniel Ray Anthony Tinner, who now faces murder charges along with new weapons and drug offenses.
Ector County deputies responded to shots being fired at 3:27 a.m. on West 57th Street in Odessa. They found Quincy Devion Price dead at the scene.
A female victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed her to Medical Center Health, where she remains in treatment.
Investigators quickly identified Tinner as the suspect and obtained a murder warrant. But he had already fled the scene, sparking a search that stretched across Texas.
Arlington police located and arrested Tinner later that morning. During the arrest, officers discovered a firearm and narcotics on his person.
Arlington authorities charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, adding to his mounting legal troubles.
He also faces drug charges from the Arlington arrest. Officers booked him into the Arlington City Jail on the murder warrant from Ector County.
The investigation continues as detectives piece together the events leading to the deadly shooting. Authorities have not released information about the relationship between Tinner and the victims or a possible motive.
