A Dallas mother was arrested for alleged child abuse after police found her 5-year-old son dead at their home, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Around 11:25 a.m. on June 27, Dallas Police officers responded to an injured child call from the 2800 block of Silkwood Street in South Dallas.

According to police, Dallas Fire-Rescue also responded and found 5-year-old Zamaurian Kizziee dead in the home.

Investigation showed the boy reportedly showed “signs of trauma.”

Hours later, police arrested Tiffany Williams, 26, for “Injury to a child – Serious bodily injury.”

Williams was booked into the Dallas County Jail. As of Tuesday afternoon, she is still being held at the jail on a $1 million bond.

The Dallas Express reached out to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to confirm reports of previous Child Protective Service involvement with this family.

A DFPS spokesperson confirmed that they had been involved with this family in the past, but state law prevents them from sharing details.

DFPS also confirmed the family’s five other children, ages 7, 6, 3, 1, and 3 months were removed from the home and placed into foster care.

The organization confirmed it is investigating the circumstances around Zamaurian’s death as well.
