Officers responded around 8:30 p.m. on June 19 to a report of shots fired in the area of the Larkin Apartments at 2301 W. White St., according to a McKinney Police Department news release.

Responding officers found Jose Herberto Martin, 19, inside a vehicle in the apartment complex parking lot with a gunshot wound to the neck, police said.

Martin was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
