Police at the scene confirmed to WFAA that the incident occurred in the street rather than inside nearby establishments.

“Incidents like this are very rare in McKinney,” Officer Darryl Saffold told WFAA. “This is still a very safe community and we take pride in that at the McKinney Police Department. We just want everyone to know that we will investigate this — turn over every single stone and figure out what happened.”

No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

The McKinney Police Department stated that they are actively searching for a suspect, although no description has been released.
