A $5,000 reward is being offered for information on an incident where a motorist died after being shot and crashing his vehicle into a light pole on South Cockrell Hill Road recently.
On July 26, sometime before 5:30 p.m., an unknown assailant fired at and hit a motorist near the 5900 block of South Cockrell Hill Road. The victim, a man reportedly in his mid-thirties, was transported by emergency personnel to a nearby hospital before he died due to the injuries he sustained.
An eyewitness told police that he noticed a figure allegedly sprinting away from the location and entering a bus.
The Dallas Police Department incident report provides few details as the investigation is still ongoing. Classified under “homicide offenses,” police noted an “unknown suspect shot unknown complainant causing his death.” Detectives attempted to identify the victim through fingerprint testing, but no matches appeared.
