A man was shot near an amateur rodeo event in Fort Worth early Monday morning after arguing with a woman and becoming violent, police said.
The man who was shot told police he got into an argument with a woman at the event that took place near the 1000 block of Oak Grove Road. The argument then turned physical, and another man at the scene pulled out a gun, shooting the arguing man.
The injured man drove to the nearby patrol office, where he approached an on-duty officer in the parking lot and asked for help. The man had been shot in the thigh, according to police, and was in good condition when he was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital.
The victim was shot at least once, according to officials. No other damage was reported from the shooting.
Detectives from the Gun Violence Unit will conduct a follow-up investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-392-4550.
