Dallas police officers are investigating a fatal shooting in South Dallas last weekend.
After a witness reported gunfire, DPD responded to a strip mall in the 4800 block of Military Parkway, near Dolphin Road at around 2:10 a.m. on Saturday. Officers found Vernon Rivers, 41, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Paramedics rushed Rivers to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives are treating this as an apparent drive-by, according to News Radio 1080. The Dallas Express reached out to independently confirm this information. DPD is working on that request.
