In McKinney, a man is facing capital murder charges in the stabbing death of his son, CBS reported.

Local police said they received a call around 4 p.m. on Friday from a woman’s neighbor, who said the woman found her son unconscious and bleeding inside her home in the 700 block of Anson Court.

Responding officers forced their way into the house and found the woman’s husband in the act of harming himself with a knife, police said.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He could face capital murder charges for the alleged stabbing.

The name of the man and the child have not yet been released by local police.

Police called the incident domestic in nature and said there was no threat to the public at large.

In other recent area crime news, a car chase ended with Fort Worth police arresting two men after a home invasion and robbery call, as The Dallas Express reported on Saturday. Additionally, a shooting on Friday left three people dead and two others injured.

The Dallas Express continues its coverage of crime in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where Dallas saw a 1.5% crime increase in 2022 compared to the previous year.
