Conner Penny, a 32-year-old youth pastor at the Inspiration Church in Mesquite, was arrested following several reports of child sexual assault.
Mesquite Police arrested Penny on April 5 after obtaining a warrant for his arrest due to the alleged child abuse. The man faces charges for one count each of continuous sexual abuse of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and indecency with a child.
According to a press release from the Mesquite Police Department, Penny allegedly had sexual contact multiple times with a girl under the age of 17 between 2015 and 2018. Additional victims have come forward after his arrest, alleging Penny assaulted them between 2013 and 2021.
He is currently in the Dallas County Jail on a $2.5 million bond.
Penny worked as the youth pastor at Mesquite’s Inspiration Church, previously Mimosa Lane Baptist Church.
He also worked as a teacher’s aide and a counselor via the Recreational After School Program, better known as RASP, for the Mesquite Independent School District and the City of Mesquite, according to police.
