A man in McKinney was shot and killed by police Friday afternoon after a chase, the McKinney Police Department said in multiple Twitter messages.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at Medical Center Dr., where police responded to a domestic disturbance.

A woman told police that a 30-year-old man with an ax was threatening her in her home at Magnolia Ranch apartments.

Upon their arrival, police chased the man and shot him.

The man was taken to Medical City McKinney and pronounced dead.

The department said Texas Rangers would take the lead in the investigation – a standard protocol for all officer-involved shootings.

The police have not released the deceased man’s name or the officer involved in the shooting.

You know, if you do not want a police officer to use force, do not run! Maybe the lady will consider getting some form of personal protection and proper training.
    Good job McKinney P.D.!
