A North Texas cyclist died after a hit-and-run incident Wednesday night in Arlington.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.

On Thursday afternoon, investigators from the Arlington Police Department were reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspected driving the vehicle, police said.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. on the 1100 block of South Collins Street, southeast of the University of Texas at Arlington and southwest of AT&T Stadium.

Authorities said the cyclist was riding near Hensley Street when an unknown driver struck her while driving southbound on South Collins Street. The driver failed to stop and render aid.

The cyclist’s body was sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Authorities stated that the victim would be identified after medical examiners notify the woman’s family.
