An altercation in a Far North Dallas motel room on Sunday reportedly led to a young girl being shot.

Police said the incident happened just after midnight on September 4 at the Red Roof Inn located in the 13600 block of North Central Expressway.

Detectives said an argument broke out between the shooter and the juvenile victim. The victim closed a door, and the suspect shot her in the legs, according to police.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital where she was treated. She was released as her injuries were minor.

Police did not say whether they knew the shooter’s identity; the investigation is ongoing.
