An illegal alien fugitive wanted for attempted murder in Venezuela was arrested in Plano by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The suspect, 31-year-old Raul Enriques Pargas, was wanted by Venezuelan authorities for a “Russian Roulette-style attack” on a woman in 2021, according to Fox 4.
Venezuelan authorities said Pargas lured a woman to his workshop, beat her, and pointed a revolver at her while manipulating bullets before fleeing the country and entering the United States illegally.
ICE officials said U.S. Border Patrol provided a tip that led to his arrest.
“This dangerous criminal alien allegedly beat, demeaned and tortured a young woman in some twisted version of Russian roulette and then fled to the United States when his attempt to murder her fell apart,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas Acting Field Office Director Joshua Johnson said. “Thanks to a tip from the U.S. Border Patrol, we were able to track him down and safely take him into custody so that he can be repatriated to Venezuela to face justice for his alleged crimes.”
Pargas is one of many illegal aliens with serious criminal backgrounds apprehended recently in Texas.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, ICE officers arrested 356 illegal aliens in Houston tied to more than 40 gangs.
Those individuals had 1,685 criminal convictions, including arson and sexual assault of children. ICE said they crossed the border illegally 1,434 times.
Critics of the Biden administration’s border policies argue cases like Pargas’ highlight the risks of allowing illegal aliens with violent records to enter the country.
