A man was allegedly shot after checking on a disturbance in his backyard, and now officers are looking for suspects, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
Around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a reported shooting in the 7800 block of Val Verde Trail. There, they found the homeowner with a single gunshot wound to his ankle.
Earlier in the evening, the victim explained, he had heard two people in his backyard. When he went outside to confront the suspects, they fled on foot.
The victim chased after the suspects, and they allegedly fired back at their pursuer. One of the bullets hit the victim in the ankle.
Medics took the man to Harris Hospital in good condition. Police are still investigating and have taken no suspects into custody.
