Two suspects who allegedly stole a vehicle led police on a chase Wednesday that saw them weaving through traffic on major highways and going in the wrong direction.

At one point, two suspects abandoned the car and got into another allegedly stolen vehicle driven by a third suspect. Law enforcement officials have taken two suspects in custody while the third one was still at large, according to information provided to The Dallas Express by the Dallas Police Department (DPD).

The chase began a little after 1:45 p.m. once reports of a stolen vehicle allowed the Dallas Air helicopter to spot the truck at E. Illinois Avenue and E. Kiest Boulevard. Law enforcement vehicles then began pursuing the suspects, following them through town, sometimes at speeds up to 80 miles an hour.

The three suspects drove through South Central Dallas until they abandoned their vehicle around 3:13 p.m. The three ran into a wooded area near 13700 Interstate 20, where two of the suspects were apprehended shortly thereafter.

DPD has not released the names of the suspects. No injuries were reported, and the DPD considered this an ongoing investigation.

Without aggressive police action, the thugs would rule the streets with impunity. We must stop the left from making law-enforcement tougher than it already is.
