Fort Worth police were still searching Sunday for a suspect after gunfire near Historic Stop Six Park injured four people, including a child and an officer.
Fort Worth police responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of East Rosedale Street on Saturday night and later directed media to stage near East Rosedale Street and Tierney Road. Four people, including a child and an officer, were injured, CBS Texas reported, citing police.
A large scheduled gathering had taken place earlier in the day near the park.
Investigators said the suspect came from near a strip center and apartment complex east of the park, fired toward a group of people, and then ran back toward the apartments.
An adult woman was shot in the head and taken to a hospital in critical condition.
A child was grazed in the head by a bullet, and another woman was shot in the hip. Both injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
A Fort Worth police officer was also injured while sitting in a patrol vehicle parked along the street. The officer suffered a neck injury from shrapnel after gunfire hit the patrol vehicle’s windshield.
Police had not announced an arrest as of Sunday morning.
The Fort Worth Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating the shooting.
