Another dangerous criminal who entered the United States illegally is off the streets, but only after local officials gave him the opportunity to walk free.
Anderson Ronaldo Reyes Giron, a 25-year-old Honduran national who was previously listed fugitive on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants list, was captured Tuesday outside a game room in North Austin, according to DPS recor Reyes Gironds.
The arrest was carried out by a collaboration between DPS Special Agents, Texas Highway Patrol Troopers, and the Austin Police Department’s Metro Tactical Unit.
Reyes Giron had allegedly been on the run for weeks, wanted in two Texas counties (Travis and Williamson) for separate felony charges: deadly conduct involving gunfire and theft of property.
Giron’s criminal history stretches back to at least 2017, when U.S. Customs and Border Protection first arrested him for unlawful entry into America. More recently, he was arrested in August 2024 for “discharging a firearm” but was allowed to bond out and disappear back into the city soon after.
Under funding from Gov. Greg Abbott’s Public Safety Office, the Texas Crime Stoppers organization has continued to try and support law enforcement efforts around the state to find and arrest high-risk individuals like Reyes Giron, especially those who have entered the country illegally.
Although no reward was paid in this specific case, the program has already helped take down 19 wanted people in 2025 alone – according to Border Patrol, including six other illegal aliens with a criminal record, with more than $22,000 given out to the public in tip rewards.
The U.S Border and Customs Office is now warning citizens not to approach suspects on the Most Wanted lists, reminding others that these people are armed and dangerous.
