When road rage unfolded between two women in Lake Worth, one allegedly shot at the other. Now, the shooter is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – a felony in the second degree.
Mia Dominguez, a 20-year-old from Fort Worth, allegedly shot at another driver during a road rage incident on November 21, according to a release from the Lake Worth Police Department.
Lake Worth police responded to a reported shooting near 6500 Azle Ave. around 4 p.m. that day.
“Officers discovered that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire following a road rage incident between two female drivers,” the release reads. “Thankfully, no one was injured.”
Police used surveillance footage and the Fort Worth Real Time Crime Center to identify Dominguez as the shooter. Officers arrested her around 7 p.m. on November 22.
Dominguez went to the Tarrant County Jail, facing a $25,000 bond, according to the release. Jail records show she was booked on November 22. The suspect is a resident of Fort Worth’s Morningside neighborhood.
“We would like to thank the Fort Worth Police Department and members of the Real Time Crime Center for their assistance with this case,” the release reads.
Just days after the road rage incident, Texas DPS began its Thanksgiving highway crackdown on November 26, as The Dallas Express previously reported. Troopers will focus on impaired driving and seat belt violations, and the operation will run through November 30.
Last month, officers with the Frisco Police Department arrested a suspect in a fatal road rage shooting that began with a confrontation in the Frisco High School parking lot, as The Dallas Express also reported. In July, officers with the Grapevine Police Department also arrested a man in Flower Mound for allegedly shooting at a family with three children on SH-121.
Earlier in July, officers with the Dallas Police Department launched an anti-road rage blitz, issuing 387 citations in one day.
