The Arlington Department of Parks and Recreation temporarily closed the Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center after a fight broke out at the park on Monday.

The incident occurred at about 6 p.m. when the Fourth of July celebrations were underway. Witnesses told Arlington police officers that two groups at the park participated in an argument.

The argument spilled out of the park and into the parking lot. Some pushing and shoving occurred, but no injuries were reported, according to CBS 11 News. About 15 to 20 people were involved in the fight.

Officers arrived at the scene and calmed the situation. No property was damaged, and no arrests were made. However, police may ticket those involved in the fight, pending the conclusion of their investigation into the incident.

The Arlington Department of Parks and Recreation said it decided to close the park to give lifeguards time to recover emotionally after the incident.

The pool is set to reopen on Thursday, July 7.
