Los Angeles police have conducted a search of a home connected to the singer D4vd following the discovery of a young girl’s body in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the musician.
The search, carried out on Wednesday night, is part of an ongoing investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was first reported missing from the Lake Elsinore area of California in April 2024.
The vehicle, which had been reportedly abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, was towed to an impound lot after being left on a street for more than a month. Police eventually discovered Rivas’ remains inside after responding to calls reporting a foul odor from the car, according to NBC News.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner noted that Rivas was wearing black leggings, a tube top, a yellow metal chain bracelet, and stud earrings when found. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and police say an investigation is still ongoing.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, appears to be connected to the house searched by homicide detectives this week. D4vd allegedly had been living at this home for an undisclosed amount of time. The home is reportedly rented by the musician’s manager, Josh Marshall of Interscope Records, according to TMZ.
Investigators allegedly removed a computer and several evidence bags during the search of the house.
Additional details first released from TMZ revealed that Rivas and D4vd share a distinctive tattoo on the right index finger reading “Shhh…,” which has drawn some viral attention online amid the investigation.
D4vd reportedly did not have the tattoo before September 2024 and has been cooperating with authorities, though he has not been in Los Angeles for more than a month. He has also cancelled his tour dates scheduled this week, with his most recent performance taking place on Tuesday.
Police have not identified who was driving the Tesla when it was abandoned and have not named any suspects as of the time of publication.
Rivas’ mother confirmed to TMZ that the tattoo on her daughter matches the one discovered on the body and that she had suspicions regarding a boyfriend named David.
Law enforcement continues to treat the case as a death investigation while gathering evidence from both the Tesla in which the body was abandoned and the Los Angeles home they searched.
