The Fort Worth Police Department is asking the public to help find the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run.

A Toyota Corolla struck and killed a pedestrian in northwest Fort Worth on September 18, according to a statement from the department. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them.

“We believe a vehicle hit the pedestrian and then left the scene,” said Officer Buddy Calzada to The Dallas Express. “Detectives will continue to investigate and have asked for the public’s assistance.”

The car reportedly struck the man near 6600 Northwest Loop 820, on the eastbound service road near Quebec Street. According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, 27-year-old Murphy Walls died there of an accident at 10:50 p.m.

The black Toyota was made in 2009 or 2010. It will likely have damage to its front right side and a missing passenger-side mirror. Fort Worth police are asking anyone with information to call Traffic Investigations Unit Detective Martin at 817-392-4892.
