The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested two men in Magna, Utah, after a bomb was located underneath a FOX 13 media vehicle in Salt Lake City.

According to official reports, suspects Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Nasir, 31, face multiple charges, including Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices. The discovery comes just days after the assassination of political activist, author, and media personality, Charlie Kirk, during a Q&A at Utah Valley University.

The incendiary device was found on Friday, September 12, and determined to be real. The bomb, which was under a media vehicle parked beside an occupied building, was lit, but “failed to function,” officials said, per FOX 13.

The FBI’s Salt Lake Field Office took over the search for the suspects, ultimately tracing the device to a home near 2800 South and 8500 West in Magna, the reported residence of the two suspects.

After determining the home was safe to enter, officers found two hoax weapons of mass destruction, bomb-making equipment, two firearms, and illegal drugs.

According to authorities, the suspect’s actions posed a “significant risk of mass casualties.” Surrounding homes in the neighborhood were evacuated during the search.

Adeeb Nasir and Adil Justice Ahemd Nasir are currently being detained in Salt Lake County Jail.
