A drive-by shooting left one man dead and another man injured in Old East Dallas on Sunday.

Around 4:40 a.m. on May 15, Dallas police arrived at an apartment complex at the 3500 block of Munger Avenue, near Hall Street, to find two victims who were struck by the gunfire.

Braylon Smith, 25, was pronounced dead at the hospital after being shot in the head. The other victim, a 31-year-old man the police have not identified, was also transported to the hospital. He is in stable condition after being struck in the leg.

According to police, shots were fired from a gray Nissan sedan as it drove through the complex, shooting the two men standing outside as they tried to flee.

Although the gunfire struck several apartment buildings, no other injuries were reported.

No other information regarding the shooting or potential suspects is available.

Anyone with information on the case can contact Detective Christopher Anderson of the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-3616 or [email protected].
