A SWAT team captured an alleged pedophile in Lewisville early Wednesday morning.
Jeffery Allen Terrell, 69, was arrested at 7 a.m. October 29, after an investigation into continuous sexual abuse of a child, Lewisville Police Department Spokeswoman Elizabeth Mayes said to The Dallas Express.
The Lewisville police SWAT team and Criminal Investigations Division served an arrest warrant and search warrant at a home near 1700 Shady Creek Dr., in southwest Lewisville, according to Mayes. They found Terrell inside the house and took him into custody “without incident.”
“There were no reported injuries to officers, the suspect, or others at the scene,” Mayes said. “He was transported to the Lewisville jail for processing.”
Lewisville detectives remained on scene to continue processing the home in connection with the investigation, according to Mayes.
Lewisville police warned residents at 7:51 a.m. that a SWAT team was operating in the area, and the suspect – now identified as Terrell – was in custody.
“There is no threat to the public,” the department posted. “Thank you for your patience and cooperation.”
Law enforcement arrested five suspects for sexual offenses across Denton County in October – four of whom faced charges involving minors, as The Dallas Express reported. From July 1 to September 23, the Dallas Police Department busted 118 wanted sex offenders.
