A 22-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday in relation to a hit-and-run death last month in northeast Dallas, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Eddaria Lawrence was arrested on charges of manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid in an accident involving a death.

According to police, the accident happened on November 12 at 12:07 a.m. Bo Stephens, 33, had been walking while talking on his phone on the sidewalk at the 9900 block of Forest Lane, near Skillman Avenue and Audelia Road.

Stephens apparently stepped off the sidewalk and into the road when a car that was speeding struck him. The collision threw him against a brick wall, according to the authorities.

Police said that Lawrence failed to stop and help Stephens.

The sad part is that had she stopped it may have been considered the pedestrian’s fault with speeding as a secondary cause.
