This edition of Dirty Johns DFW heads north to Denton County, where sex stings have roped in several alleged sex buyers, including a local fire chief.
Over the past six months, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a total of 34 men for allegedly soliciting prostitution.
As previously covered in The Dallas Express, the first operation occurred in December with the help of personnel from the Department of Homeland Security, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Arlington Police Department. All but one of the 11 men ensnared in the bust were from Denton County, with one hailing from Wise County.
Their names are as follows: Rajeev Kwamaine Turner, Jorge Fernandez, Lontel Jahnar Johnson, Michael Anthony Ramos, Adebayo Felix Adetolu, Kenneth Darrel Swick, Ruben Eliab Calderon, Stevie Wayne Lamb Jr., Barry Dean Whatley, Dennis Michael Fontana, and Jose Guadalupe Zambrano.
Between June 13 and 14, a total of 23 men were arrested in another operation looking to suppress the demand for prostitution. These arrests were made possible with the assistance of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the Lewisville Police Department, the Arlington Police Department, the Argyle Police Department, and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.
Day one of the operation resulted in 14 suspects — all but one from North Texas — caught in the team’s web: Michael Clinton Allman, Bryson Deon Brown (from North Carolina), Robert Henry Busch, Kashyapsinh D. Chauhan, Jason Scott Collier, Ricky Daniel Davis, Donald Ray Ford Jr., James Arthur Hiatt, James Arthur Jackson Jr., Jakari Donte Johnson, Victor Mbuamakia Matute, Demetrio Santiago Gutierrez, Javier Trinadad [sic], and Abin Varghese.
Collier, as covered in The Dallas Express, allegedly attempted to flee when he opened the door of a Lewisville Motel 6 room and found himself face-to-face with deputies. He resigned from his post as fire chief of Highland Village shortly after his arrest.
On day two, the authorities took nine more suspects into custody.
Joshua Allen Brazier, Curry Lee Searle Brown, Michael Anthony James Jr., and Robert Michael Windsor were booked on charges of solicitation of prostitution.
Those booked on charges of soliciting prostitution of a minor include Quintarius Pierre Bell, James Barrett Kelley, Myles Desarian Campbell, and Travis Allen Hendon.
Justin Wallace Carter was booked for a separate charge of online solicitation of a minor involving sexual conduct, as reported by DX. Carter was a middle school coach in Ponder ISD before resigning in 2023. He was hired by Denton ISD in 2024 as a provisional employee and worked there as an assistant football coach.
There have also been dozens of arrests made in Dallas, where police have also been running an operation targeting sex buyers, as previously covered in The Dallas Express. As of June 26, there have been 214 prostitution-related offenses citywide, with 112 involving the purchase of sexual services, according to the City’s crime analytics dashboard.
Council Member Omar Narvaez’s District 6 tends to be where most prostitution offenses have been logged. Despite this being a known breeding ground for the illicit sex trade and the other criminal activity that often occurs alongside it, efforts to stamp them out have been limited due to the Dallas Police Department’s thin resources.
DPD fields only around 3,000 officers, which falls short of the 4,000 recommended by a prior City analysis. Moreover, this fiscal year, City leaders have allocated far less taxpayer money to police than in other high-crime jurisdictions. DPD operates on a budget of just $654 million.
