Dallas police arrested two wanted felons after surveillance footage linked them to a stolen U-Haul van used in multiple burglaries.
The arrests followed an intensive investigation by North Central Crime Response Team officers who tracked 41-year-old Zachary McCarter and 43-year-old Jessica McCarter across several cities.
The McCarters faced outstanding warrants for robbery and burglary in Tulsa, Richardson, and Dallas.
Detectives acquired crucial surveillance video showing the suspects operating the stolen van connected to recent North Dallas burglaries. Officers used the footage to establish a surveillance perimeter that led to their arrest on August 27.
“A good arrest is built upon the work of an excellent investigation,” said Assistant Chief Richard Foy. “My officers are constantly connecting the dots and following the leads to ensure criminals are brought to justice and that Dallas remains safe.”
Police charged both suspects with burglary of a building and unlawful possession of a firearm. Additional charges included felony vehicle theft, possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine, and the outstanding robbery and burglary warrants from Tulsa PD.
The burglary charge is a state jail felony, while firearm possession constitutes a third-degree felony. The investigation continues under case number 123253-2025.
