Dallas police arrested six people and seized methamphetamine, cocaine, and PCP during a gang enforcement operation in the West End district on June 20.
The crackdown highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and gang violence in Dallas’ urban core. Rising crime rates in entertainment districts have prompted increased police presence.
“Our mission is about more than making arrests. It’s about keeping the City safe,” said Assistant Chief Catrina M. Shead.
Officers seized 61 grams of methamphetamine, 2.5 grams of cocaine, and 4.1 grams of PCP.
The Dallas Police Gang Unit led the operation with support from the Central Business District Task Force, Central Patrol officers, and DART police.
- Kevin Lawrence, 38, faces a second-degree felony charge for possessing between 4 and 200 grams of controlled substances.
- Lindsay Blackwell, 42, was charged with third-degree felony possession for having 1 to 4 grams of a controlled substance.
- Wayne Beard, 41, received two state jail felony counts for possessing less than one gram of controlled substances.
- Ollison Wheeler, 31, faces second-degree felony charges for possessing 4 to 400 grams of penalty group 2 substances.
- Trevon Freeman, 25, was arrested for theft between $750 and $2,500.
- Dilion Turkson, 27, had an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession.
Police documented the arrests under five case numbers: 087818-2025, 087831-2025, 087832-2025, 087897-2025, and 088396-2025.
