Dallas police arrested 96 violent felons in July through Operation Justice Trail, bringing the total to 293 arrests since the initiative launched May 1. The suspects collectively had more than 1,600 prior arrests.
The Dallas Police Department arrested 96 violent felons in July as part of Operation Justice Trail, a three-month crackdown targeting repeat violent offenders across the region. Since the initiative launched on May 1, a total of 293 arrests have been made — suspects with a combined criminal history exceeding 1,600 prior arrests.
In July alone, the 96 arrested individuals had a cumulative 307 prior arrests.
“We’re targeting violent criminals and taking them off the streets. Through our partnership with the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, criminals are finding out that they will be located, no matter where they go,” said Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux.
The task force’s reach extends beyond Dallas city limits. Officers have arrested fugitives who fled into Dallas from other jurisdictions and tracked down violent felons who attempted to leave the city to evade capture.
“Our Task Force captured fugitives who fled to Dallas from other jurisdictions, as well as located and arrested felons who left Dallas to flee from justice,” Comeaux said.
Crime Stoppers continues to support the effort by offering $1,000 rewards for tips leading to arrests of violent felony suspects. The guaranteed reward offer runs through August 31.
A full list of the July arrests and their associated charges is available in the department’s official report.
