The gunman who fatally shot a man in downtown Dallas early Saturday is still at large.
At about 3:20 a.m. on August 20, Dallas police officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Pacific Avenue, near Cesar Chavez Boulevard. A witness had called the department to report a man had been shot inside his car.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Gustavo Lopez Estrada, 27, with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue took Estrada to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead.
After speaking to a witness, police determined that the victim was shot by an unknown assailant in a dark-colored SUV in the vicinity of Pacific Avenue and Hardwood Avenue.
The witness told the police that the SUV fled the scene but did not know what direction it went.
Officers do not know who the shooter was and have asked for the public’s help identifying them.
