An 18-year-old suspect is wanted by Dallas police in what they are calling the city’s first homicide of the new year, according to a news release.

On January 1, 2023, at around 12:40 a.m., police responded to a shooting call in the 4500 block of Mar Vista Trail in West Oak Cliff.

When officers arrived on the scene that Sunday morning, they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, whom police have identified as 36-year-old Dylan Reeves, was lying in a driveway unresponsive.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the call and transported the man to a local hospital, where he died.

According to police, 18-year-old Miguel Sereno allegedly shot the victim after the two men got into an argument.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived.

Dallas police are searching for Sereno and have issued a warrant for his arrest, as Kristin Lowman, a department representative, explained to The Dallas Express.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this offense is asked to contact Detective Tonya McDaniel at 214-671-4236 or at [email protected].

The alleged shooting took place in Dallas’ District 3, represented by City Councilmember Casey Thomas II. Crime rates continue to soar in the city, as the city council and other political leaders decline to prioritize law enforcement and public safety.

How long do you think he has been in this country, and do you think he is still here?
