The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) has identified the remains of a human body discovered in an open field in August.

The remains were found by sheriff’s deputies on August 7 in the 1700 block of Hash Road, according to authorities.

The Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences (SWIFS) and the Dallas Police Department’s (DPD) Crimes Against Persons Unit identified the remains as those of 26-year-old Sidney Palmer, who had been reported missing last year.

Palmer was last seen on September 8 in the 1200 block of East 10th Street in Dallas around 6:30 a.m.

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Sidney Palmer to call DCSO Detective Jacob at 214-653-3494 or DPD Detective C. Shelton at 214-283-4900.
