On Christmas Eve, a convicted male sex offender was arrested for allegedly taking photos of women in a local public restroom while dressed as a woman and later brandishing a weapon.

The incident began in a women’s restroom at Hulen Mall in Fort Worth when a woman reportedly noticed that an individual in the stall next to her was invading her privacy.

“While she was using the restroom, she observed what she believed to be a cell phone coming from underneath the stall,” Fort Worth policeman Joshua Johnson stated.

The woman then quickly exited the stall and confronted the individual in the stall next to her. A chase began as the suspect, later reportedly identified as 45-year-old Douglas Egan, fled the scene.

The victim said Egan was dressed like a woman.

When the chase spilled outside the mall, another man attempted to help the woman stop the suspect.

“At that point, the suspect pulled out and presented what appeared to be a gun,” said Johnson. “He pulled it from a backpack which he was carrying and pointed it at that first witness and then continued to flee.”

While other individuals in the parking lot gathered around the scene, Egan reportedly began changing out of women’s clothing and into men’s clothing.

Egan allegedly fled the scene and was later arrested at a nearby apartment complex.

“Thank you to the good Samaritans for [stepping] up, who saw a confrontation they deemed to be inappropriate and just got involved. It takes the community getting involved to protect us,” continued Officer Johnson.

The weapon Egan allegedly brandished during the incident turned out to be a pepper ball gun, which produces less-than-lethal rounds and is typically utilized for self-defense.

Egan has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper photo/video in a bathroom.

This is not his first run-in with law enforcement. Egan is currently registered as a “high risk” sex offender, stemming from a conviction for felony indecency with a child by exposure in Dallas County and numerous misdemeanors for indecent exposure.

A review of his sex offender records shows that all of his victims have been female, with one as young as 16.

According to reports, Egan served seven years in prison for his felony conviction and was released earlier this year.

“It’s extremely unfortunate that someone would take advantage of an individual just as they’re using the restroom for their own personal gains,” Johnson said.

Egan is being held at the Lon Evans Corrections Center in Fort Worth on a $30,000 bond, with a court appearance scheduled for January 3.

Sue the judge, court etc that allowed this criminal get out of prison. He should be jailed for life for both his and the public’s safety. Next time he might encounter someone who will do him lots of harm in self-defense.

I think that’s the key. Holding those profiting off the system accountable and open them up to the risk of litigation just like everyone else and maybe they’ll take their decisions made on a whim more seriously.

How about reporting about Dallas instead if Ft. Worth? How about reporting about Ken Paxton? Ya’ll are about the most far right rag in the Dallas community with visible prejudice shown everyday. Why not complain about Abbott not doing his job with changing sentencing lengths if you are so upset? Are you really getting any financial support from the far right to support this rag?

Yep. If he is a registered sex offender, then he did time and was released by the state, not the county.

Note, how they use the location of a previous offense as “Dallas County” and not the actual location in an attempt to loosely connect the Dallas DA.

Again, the sheer lack of integrity is just weak. This whole site is laughable.

So….you think that current events on local sex offenders should be omitted by this local outlet…?

and why is it bad to point out the priors once he has been apprehended?

He did this to himself and more importantly traumatized other human beings with his conduct.

I just need to cogitate this before I move forward in engaging…but…

I am glad he was apprehended before he hurt someone else.

Why is the publication of that so “far right” ?

Didn’t we just read about what happened to a seven year at the hands of a degenerate?

People are getting messed up by the reality of the circumstance.

Again, my post is pending approval. So much for free speech on here. They don’t like it when people call them out. Snowflakes.

The usual overreaction against Diversity and Inclusion! Sick perverts have rights too, and we need to respect that they were born that way. Fortunately, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The sick perverts who were guests on Epstein Island are still free, almost a year after Ghislane Maxwell was sentenced.

We must do more to respect the rights of sick perverts, perhaps by having just one, non-binary restroom, with no stalls, so sick perverts can be accepted and loved.

Seems to me if the perpetrator is a cross dressing sexual predator, that the COURTS should BAN him permanently from cross dressing. Make it an automatic violation the MOMENT he cross dresses. Done deal
