A Dallas man was sentenced to serve 50 years in a federal penitentiary Wednesday, announced Leigha Simonton, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

Luis Humberto Rodriguez, 30, who repeatedly raped a seven-year-old child, pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography and one count of transportation of child pornography in January 2021.

To reach a 50-year sentence, U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr sentenced Rodriguez to 30 years for the production count and 20 years for the transportation count.

Each count that Rodriguez is sentenced for will run consecutively.

Rodriguez admitted to filming himself sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl multiple times and sharing the images through the social media app KIK in plea papers.

An agent took the stand on Wednesday and testified that Rodriguez admitted to having sexual contact with an additional four victims.

Two of the four victims included a one-year-old toddler and a special needs child.

Agents were able to build a case against Rodriguez after an iPad was seized from a registered sex offender in Olympia, Washington.

Agents discovered conversations between Rodriguez and the other sex offender.

The conversation detailed sharing and trading explicit images of children in a “trade” and offered his email address.

“The sexual exploitation of children is unconscionable.  It is the mission of HSI Dallas to secure the safety of all children,” said Lester R. Hayes Jr., HIS Dallas Special Agent in Charge, in a statement.

“Now that justice has prevailed, our hope is that the victims, their families, and the community will now begin their journey of recovery with this predator behind bars.”

Rodrigues was tracked to Dallas by law enforcement, where his home was searched.

During the search of Rodriguez’s home, Agents seized a smartphone and found a video of Rodriguez sexually abusing a child.

Agents also found a collection of child pornography that exceeded 20 gigabytes.

Rodriguez admitted to having more than 600 videos and images of child pornography, including “sadistic” imagery.

Dallas violent crime continues to increase, and sexual offenses, including rape, and sexual assault of a child, have increased by 12%, according to Dallas Police daily briefing.
