Officers with Customs and Border Protection arrested an alleged pedophile wanted in Georgia earlier this week.

CBP officers arrested 24-year-old Logan Alexander Tuckey in Brownsville at the Veterans International Bridge on December 22, according to a press release. He was an American wanted in Whitfield County, Georgia, for sexual exploitation of children.

“This arrest of a person wanted for sexual exploitation of children out of Whitfield County, Georgia, highlights CBP’s commitment to its border security mission and to keeping our communities safe,” said Brownsville Port Director Tater Ortiz in the release.

When Tuckey approached the bridge, CBP officers referred him for “secondary examination.” There, they used biometric verification and federal law enforcement databases to confirm his identity – and found the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office wanted him on a felony warrant for “sexual exploitation of children.”

“Tuckey was placed in custody in Cameron County pending final adjudication of the warrant,” the release reads.

He was booked into jail on December 23, according to jail records. His bond was still unclear at the time of publication.

Whitfield sheriff’s officials posted on Facebook that Tuckey was a resident of the county. They thanked federal partners and other agencies for their help.

“This effort proves that those who wish to commit crimes in Whitfield County will be brought to justice. You cannot run, and you cannot hide,” sheriff’s officials posted. “We will use every available resource to locate anyone who attempts to victimize a child.”

The sheriff’s office will continue to provide updates on this case as soon as they are available.
